About JPC

Dr. Popkin started the company in 1978, building on his experience in price measurement, analysis and forecasting. He has worked as an economist for over thirty-five years and has specialized in the price area for the last twenty. During that time he has worked at the Bureau of Labor Statistics as Assistant Commissioner for Prices, at the Presidentās Council of Economic Advisers, and at the National Bureau of Economic Research as director of its Washington office.

JPC is on the GSA schedule and Census Bureau roster for its R&D 2007 research effort.

Now in its 26th year, JPC has reorganized to expand the services it can provide. It has done this by establishing a cooperative arrangement with Economic Consulting Services, LLC. The arrangement is facilitated through Kathryn L Kobe, Director of Price, Wage, and Productivity Analysis at ECS and former chief economist of Joel Popkin and Company. This arrangement enhances JPC's ability to provide research requiring intensive data work at the micro level.
